Lemoyne

Four generations of the LEMOYNE family occupy an important place in the history of French sculpture. The renown of Jean-Baptiste (1704-1778)—favorite sculptor of Louis XV—should not eclipse the talents of his father, Jean Louis, (1665-1755), nor of Jean-Baptiste Senior, his uncle (1679-1731). The catalogue is devoted to an analysis of the work of each of them.
