Nattier

Jean Marc NATTIER (1685-1766) painted sumptuous portraits representing members of Europe's royal courts, among them "Mesdames", Louis XV's daughters. The critical catalogue, established under the direction of Joseph Baillio, will accent the essential of Nattier's art: ceremonial portraits where, despite appearing as mythological or allegorical characters seen in sumptuous interiors or bucolic decors and flattered by shimmering fabrics, the models nonetheless retain their human dimension.
